For some reason, we decided to give Alyssa's room a makeover for Christmas. It is a bad time of year to do this...if you plan anything like this, keep that in mind! It has been a very crazy few days! I meant to take before and after pictures, but the before came and went really quickly trying to get everything moved out in a hurry and I forgot! I have such a WONDERFUL family that helped me out SO much in getting it done. My brother in law, Rodney, helped me so much getting the paint matched to her sheets and he primed the walls and painted for me and stayed until almost 1 AM helping! My sister, Cheri, was the mastermind behind the plan. She helped me plan EVERY little detail of her room. It is amazing how she had this vision and I was able to watch it play out perfectly. I told my mom she could make a living decorating and she could make a killing! She knew just where to put everything to make it visually pleasing! Sonny helped by staying out of the way! My dad came over and helped me hang the hutch, drill holes, etc. He was so wonderful. And finally my mom…she had to put up with Alyssa for two days in order for me to make this a wonderful surprise! That takes a saint! J As you can see from the pictures, it really does look like something off of Extreme Makeover (although pics don’t even come close to doing it justice).

One REALLY happy girl!

Here is the wall that serves a memory board.

Here is her armoire that holds her TV/DVD player.

More of the wall.

Here was Sonny and Carson's idea of decorating the room. A nice nap!

The finished product. I thought putting the bed at an angle would make her room look even smaller, but it actually made the room look bigger!

Here is a view from the hallway. You can see her sparkly pink wreath on her door on the left. Sonny says it looks like a pepto bismol room. Thanks, Son!

Cheri at work. We placed all of the furniture before we finished the wall. That was not the brightest move!
